Can I return an item that has been installed or test-fitted?Updated 16 days ago
No. Once an item has been installed, mounted, torqued, wired, or test-fitted in any way, it becomes final sale and cannot be returned.
This is an industry-standard policy across all automotive manufacturers and distributors.
Why Installed Parts Cannot Be Returned
Installed or test-fitted items:
Cannot be resold as new
May have safety or wear concerns
May contain internal damage not visible
Are often flagged by manufacturers as “used”
Can no longer be certified for resale or warranty
Even a brief or partial installation makes the item non-returnable.
Examples of “Installed” or “Attempted Installation”
These conditions disqualify a return:
Bolting the part onto the vehicle
Torqueing hardware, even once
Scratching mounting points
Plugging in electrical connectors
Cutting or modifying any part
Removing protective films or seals
Test-fitting a body part resulting in scuffs or alignment marks
If any of these occur, the item is permanently considered used.
